The Story of Moses: A Journey of Faith and Freedom Once upon a time, in the land of Egypt, the Israelites were living as slaves under the rule of a cruel Pharaoh. Life was harsh, and the people cried out to God for deliverance. Hearing their cries, God chose a man named Moses to lead His people to freedom. Moses was born during a time when the Pharaoh had ordered all newborn Hebrew boys to be killed. To save her son, Moses’ mother placed him in a basket and set him afloat on the Nile River. By God’s providence, the basket was found by the Pharaoh’s daughter, who took pity on the baby and raised him as her own in the palace. Moses grew up as a prince in Egypt, but deep inside, he knew he was different. He saw the suffering of his people, the Hebrews, and it broke his heart. One day, when Moses saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave, he couldn’t stand it anymore. He stepped in and struck the Egyptian, killing him.
